Indirect Procurement Specialist for Facilities and Construction Services

 

The Impact You’ll Make

At Lam, as an Indirect Procurement Specialist, you play a pivotal role in our procurement process for Global Workplace Solutions (GWS).  Analyzing requirements, coordinating purchasing activities and engaging in cost analysis as you negotiate for the best value and explore new supply sources. Your expertise ensures Lam's procurement remains efficient and competitive on a global scale.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in sourcing, planning, buying, and negotiating cost and delivery of materials required for construction and facilities services.
  • In collaboration with Legal, Indirect materials and Facilities, establish contract terms including pricing, service level agreement, key performance indicators
  • Manage the competitive bidding processes
  • Coordinate with Facilities services, engineering and their respective stakeholders to acquire inventory and services in a cost effective and timely manner
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships 
  • Lead quarterly business reviews
  • Monitor the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to negotiate highest quality at best value 
  • Develop new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are no longer competitive
  • Perform cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities (e.g., materials, components, equipment, and services)
  • Objectively measure effectiveness of supply base
  • Determine and implement supplier performance and cost reduction program


Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide purchasing performance evaluation, benchmarking & reporting
  • Work with management to address all aspects of commodity management, including procurement support, commodity business plans, market trends assessment, pricing, and product availability
  • Leads and participates in global cross-site and cross-functional team activity
  • Ensure business resilience
  • Ensure the products and services that procures adhere to the company’s Worldwide Business Conduct Policy, environmental and social responsibility

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience evaluating/sourcing facilities services & construction suppliers
  • Contract review and negotiations
  • A related Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience plus 7 years of directly related experience
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, SAP, MyContracts)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills: ability to develop/maintain productive business relationship and persuade/influence directly and indirectly

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the semiconductor industry or other technical industry
  • Six Sigma certification, 8D training, APICS certification
