Learning and Development Manager will have the opportunity to consult with internal clients and lead/manage the design, development and deployment of targeted learning interventions that align to and ensure attainment of client's business objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the design, development and implementation of complex learning initiatives and individual learning interventions.
  • Work with partners and business leaders to assess needs, identify priority learning and development solutions, and to lead the design, development, implementation and measurement of engaging and interactive learning solutions.
  • Manage multiple projects, including subject matter experts (SMEs) and appropriate learning solution review resources.
  • Ensure and support implementation of solutions globally through the global team.
  • Establish and manage relationships with key business leaders and designated SMEs for pipeline learning solution development and deployment.
  • Partner with business leaders to plan and execute the assessment, design, development and deployment of learning interventions.
  • Establish effective working relationships with business leaders and designated "learning liaisons" within assigned client service groups.
  • Utilize learning consulting and organization effectiveness frameworks to assess business performance issues and determine effective interventions.
  • Provide high-quality and creative learning design consultation utilizing multiple learning methods and innovation.
  • Determine appropriate learning delivery methods in the context of development needs, learning audience and organization culture.
  • Determine measurement strategy for gauging learner and business impact of learning interventions.
  • Provide oversight and quality control of learning deliverables.
  • Plan and manage learning solution delivery schedule and logistics for as required.

     

    Required Education, Skills, Experience and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in training & development, human resources, learning or related field.
  • 5-7 years’ experience designing and developing non-technical learning solutions for instructor-lead (face-to-face), eLearning (self-study) and webcasts.
  • Strong foundation in adult learning theory.
  • Consultative skills — ability to lead and collaborate with clients/stakeholders on the assessment, design, development and delivery of innovative and effective learning and performance solutions that align with the strategic business needs of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker, with ability to quickly assess and summarize information and effectively identify issues or risks and potential resolutions.
  • Relationship management including the ability to interact, communicate and influence equally well within all levels.
  • Demonstrated agility and success in project/solution management of large complex learning projects.
  • Effective facilitation skills including the ability to listen, deliver feedback, organize thoughts and lead initiatives.
  • Strong influencing capability — skillfully influence peers, colleagues and executives to promote and sell ideas.
  • Execution focus — ability to translate strategy into specific goals, tactics, action plans and deliverables.
  • Client service focus and a collaborative team-oriented attitude balanced with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience working with vendors and managing vendor relationships.

     

    Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Master's degree in training & development, human resources, learning or related field.
  • CPLP, PMP, SPHR/PHR and/or CMP.
  • Demonstrated success in working with internal business clients to implement strategic learning initiatives.
  • Experience with learning measurement strategy and tactics.
  • Experience with using learning to support major organization change initiatives.
  • Experience as a course instructor for instructor-lead (face-to-face) and webcasts.
  • Experience developing and implementing department goals and strategies based on broader organization goals.
  • Design and Develop training to serve global audiences including ESL (English as a second language) learners.
  • In cases where SMEs create the content, review and edit their content to deliver a finished training product
  • Define training-related testing criteria and build strong assessments in an electronically delivered medium.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop e-learning/online learning using industry standard development tools like Articulate Storyline, Captivate and others
  • Develop and maintain all necessary course collateral including facilitator and learner materials, presentation media, job aids and knowledge checks.
  • Solid facilitation experience of various instructor-led programs for multiple audiences.
  • Can facilitate Train the Trainer sessions with curriculum developers when the need arises as well as to pilot any new curriculum.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, results-oriented, data-driven environment.
