The Impact You’ll Make

As a Mechanical Engineer at Lam, you're designing and defining cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Your role involves feasibility studies, testing, and guiding teams in detailed design and fabrication. You provide the crucial design information needed to shape our technology's packaging.

In this role, you will directly contribute to the next generation of memory fabrication hardware and technologies used on Lam's Vector STRATA line of deposition reactors - the world's most advanced deposition tools that are at the core of every 3D NAND device.

What You’ll Do

  • ​​​​​​Solve problems conclusively using fundamental principles, best practices and intuition.
  • Create elegant and practical designs using advanced materials and processes.
  • Perform detailed and timely analyses using first principles and computational models.
  • Develop and conduct feasibility studies and test plans to characterize design performance.
  • Prepare effective reports and technical presentations for diverse audiences of peers, leaders and customers.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to create solutions that can be produced reliably and efficiently around the world.
  • Provide key deliverables including design review presentations, Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA), technical specifications, risk analyses and test specifications.
  • Generate engineering documentation that meets Lam standards and industry best practices.

Who We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 3+ years; or equivalent experience.
•    Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and technical presentation skills. 
•    Highly proficient in 3D CAD tools such as CREO, Siemens NX, ProE, SolidWorks, and others.
•    Hands-on experimental and design background with engineering skills

Preferred Qualifications

•    Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and technical presentation skills. 
•    Experience in Semiconductor industry is a plus.
•    Experience in project management, managing projects, or problem solving while managing time and multiple priorities.
