Lam Research develops semiconductor manufacturing solutions for the world’s leading chipmakers. We make the tools that make the chips that power your world. We are searching for a mid to senior level Mechanical Engineer to work at our 3000 employee Portland Oregon area facilities. Relocation assistance will be provided.

 

This is a key role in the Deposition Product Group where you will develop solutions for PECVD process modules that will require versatility and interdisciplinary knowledge. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will possess significant experience in thin film processing equipment, should be a self-starter and a highly motivated visionary able to anticipate the future needs of industry and be able to architect next generation equipment. 

 

Qualifications:

•Strong Mechanical Engineer – able to treat Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) equipment as a system with excellent knowledge of the mechanical, electrical and controls and ability to view this holistically.

•Strong analytical skills – proven ability to analyze systems data to be able to translate equipment performance to individual component or system capabilities and vice versa.

•Architect – able to design semiconductor deposition equipment.  Familiarity with all sub-systems – thermal, plasma, vacuum, chemical and fluid delivery.

•CAD: Strong CAD modeling capability.  Experience with Pro-E preferred.

•Modeling: Ansys, Comsol, etc.

•Plasma, RF and PECVD/ALD is a plus

•Thrive in a fast-paced, exciting environment with ample challenging assignments, have an ability to influence and be viewed as a technical leader

•Willingness to coach/mentor junior engineers in design practices

•Critical review of designs and participate in all design reviews

•Ability to innovate and take risks

•Be able to work well individually and in teams and comfortable with matrixed assignments
