The Impact You’ll Make
The Occupancy and Space Planning Manager is responsible for managing the efficient use of office space and facilities to meet organizational needs. This role involves analyzing space requirements, developing strategic plans, and ensuring that all space utilization aligns with the company’s goals and objectives. The manager will collaborate with various departments to understand their space needs and provide innovative solutions that maximize space efficiency and support business operations.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement space planning strategies to optimize the use of office and facility space.
- Conduct space needs assessments and analysis to identify current and future space requirements.
- Monitor and manage occupancy levels to ensure effective use of space.
- Maintain accurate records of space utilization and occupancy data.
- Coordinate with HR and departmental leaders to plan for employee moves, additions, and changes.
- Lead space planning projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with external vendors, architects, and contractors to oversee space-related projects.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Work closely with department heads to understand their space needs and provide customized solutions.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to ensure alignment on space planning initiatives.
- Facilitate meetings and presentations to discuss space planning proposals and obtain necessary approvals.
- Analyze occupancy data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
- Prepare reports and presentations on space utilization and planning activities for senior management.
- Develop and maintain space utilization metrics and KPIs.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance space planning efficiency.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the facilities management team.
Who We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in space planning, facilities management, or a related role.
- Proficiency in CAFM software and other space planning tools.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in a leadership role managing multiple employees
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Willingness to travel to different company locations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification in facilities management (e.g., IFMA, BOMA).
- Experience in corporate real estate or workplace strategy.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices in space planning.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
