Job Responsibilities

As a contributor within Lam’s Global Operations team, this individual will establish a new Planning Engineer that help’s Lam adapt and service growing markets with increased complexity brought about by increased product offerings, global manufacturing locations and supply chains.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable to understand configuration and part family relationships for assigned commodities
  • Track and understand changes in capacity, demand and inventory
  • Partner with Factory, Supply Chain to feed these relationships into the planned output process
  • Drive improved business processes and accountability with Supply Chain, PG, Sales Ops, and OF by
  • Driving slot cap growth in line with ICP forecast and Planned Output limits with ability to map to part families and product families. 
  • Navigate flexibility between part family aligned output and fungibility to alternate part families within the commodity in partnership with the Strategic Planner
  • Partner with SC to drive Lead Time reduction activities for assigned commodities
  • Understanding of the Spares demand model & drive stakeholders in key improvement areas
  • Driving PG override capability on forecast BOMs 
  • Establish a feedback loop of accuracy of customer quotes (ACQs)
  • Establish recurring check-in meetings with PG/SC to discuss current yield issues, lifetime, and future product transitions

 

Other Job Responsibilities

Stretch Goals:

  • Partnering with Pilot & OF on transitions and Pilot Planning BOM creation 
  • Partner with SOPs and PGs to establish non-POA upgrade BOMs (just a thought but a possible solution may be a “family BOM” for upgrades that has some generic components)
  • Develop standardized process for future Planning Engineers to track commodity status (ex. “Commodity Dashboard” with any issues, considerations, etc.) that would be visible to other ICP stakeholders to drive strategic decision making
  • Drive Commonality & SKU productivity discussions with PG/SC for cost and LT reduction
Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
