The Path Forward Return to Work program at Lam Research is a 16-week paid returnship for experienced professionals returning to the workforce. The program is open to individuals who have at least 5 years of professional experience and have been out of the paid workforce for at least two years to focus on caregiving of any kind. Lam Research – Role:

This HR returnship provides an opportunity to gain HRBP experience in the dynamic, challenging and fun Global Operations HR team.  The Global Operations workforce is diverse as it includes a large non-exempt population and a large professional population.  In this role you will gain insight into the opportunities and challenges of HR strategy in managing these varying organizations. 

Through the Lam returnship program, you will get hands-on business experience.  You will collaborate with experienced professionals on career-related projects with a special focus on learning and development.  You will have opportunities to learn more about Lam and the semiconductor industry. 

Lam Research – Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects that have been identified as specific needs to the Supply Chain and Logistics organizations.  This would include gathering stakeholder input, analyzing input and data, recommending, and presenting solutions.  Example project opportunities include Supply Chain assimilation, Logistics supervisor effectiveness, pulse survey deep dive assessment etc.
  • Contribute to the development of a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion where employee experience is at the center of HR service delivery
  • Track and utilize HR metrics and people data to drive solutions based on trends and understand effectiveness of support provided
  • Support tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, productivity, recognition, and morale; recruitment tracking, and reporting; and training and development.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Lam Research – Qualifications:


  • Takes initiative and acts independently
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Experience working across complex organizational boundaries such as subsidiaries

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. 
  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources
  • 2+ years of experience communicating and implementing HR programs, policies, practices, and processes
