Who are we?

Lam Research develops semiconductor manufacturing solutions for the world’s leading chipmakers.  This position supports the Pilot Engineering and Pilot Operations teams.  Our Pilot teams enable the fast development and release of new products by:

Collaborating with suppliers on new processes and technologies to cut prototype material procurement lead time from weeks to days

Providing a flexible manufacturing environment that meets committed delivery dates while supporting ongoing and late product design changes

Taking joint ownership with product development teams for product cost and design quality by having expertise in should costing, DFX and supply chain program management

 

Role Description

You will partner with Business Process Owners and Business Systems Analysts to define and execute business process and software application projects using Lam’s problem solving and project management methodologies.  Projects will potentially include: integrations with enterprise systems (SAP, PLM, Digital Manufacturing), front end and back end design (SQL, HANA, Fiori), operations modeling, information delivery and BI.

This position supports a new product introduction operations and manufacturing organization.  Domain expertise in supply chain, manufacturing operations or materials management desired.

 

Duties:

  1. Collaborate with business process owners and technical resources to diagnose process issues and identify improvement opportunities.  Drive disciplined use of problem solving techniques to identify root causes and to test solution options.
  2. Develop and manage project plans in support of approved projects.  Scope of responsibility includes:
    1. Leading project cross-functional teams, including contract software development resources, using the Lam Project Management Methodology
    2. Managing resources required to achieve technical and schedule commitments
    3. Developing and executing risk mitigation plans
    4. Managing project budgets, including leading RFP/RFQ processes for services and hardware purchases
    5. Communicating project status with executive and cross-functional stakeholders, including presenting status during steering committee and operation reviews
  3. Manage relationships between the project team and both internal and external stakeholder organizations
  4. Participate in and contribute to business unit project portfolio management processes

 

Skills and Experience:

  1. Form and develop teams with members from different organizations and geographies.  Develop a culture of creativity and accountability in project teams- solve problems in new ways while keeping organizational commitments
  2. Ability to lead a team in the use of problem solving techniques (5 Why Analysis, DMAIC, fishbone) and translate findings into an executable plan.  Strong data analysis skills and experience extracting information from data
  3. Know when and how to communicate- email, presentation, face to face, collaboration tools- to maintain alignment between team members, project executives and project stakeholders in a dynamic, geographically distributed and culturally diverse organization
  4. Ability to lead a team in the process of assessing project risks and developing appropriate mitigation plans
  5. Escalate issues while maintaining positive relationships with team members and other organizations
  6. Ability to influence peers, internal customers and executives to gain acceptance of program solutions
  7. Experience leading project and software development teams in an Agile environment highly desired
  8. PMP, APICS certifications desired

 

Education:  Bachelor’s in Operations Management, Computer Science or Software Engineering with 6+ years in a project management role, Master’s in Operations Management, Computer Science, Software Engineering or MBA with 3+ years in a project management role.

 

Location: Tualatin, OR

 

Travel: 10-20% domestic travel expected
