The Impact You’ll Make

Lam Research is seeking PhD graduates specializing in plasma science and engineering. The chosen candidates will engage in fundamental plasma research and leverage scientific principles to innovate next-generation industrial products.

 

Applicants must be willing to relocate to Portland, Oregon and join Lam Research in 2025.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop conceptual designs, perform computational modeling, build prototypes, and validate design concepts in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other engineers to address plasma-related challenges and provide technical solutions for internal and external customers.

Who We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • PhD in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or related fields) or Physics.
  • Educational background and expertise in low-temperature plasmas through hands-on laboratory experiments or analytical/computational modeling.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration in a cross-functional team setting.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
