Job Responsibilities

  • High level metrology engineer capable of operating multiple tool types, generating and interpreting data, modifying recipes, and providing 1:1 support to technologists at the highest technical level
  • Requires sufficient technical familiarity with tools and metrology techniques to manage vendors and interact efficiently with vendor field service engineers when need arises to help deliver maximum asset availability
  • Tool sets include but not limited to: Defect inspection systems, CD SEMs, optical and x-ray thin film measurement systems (ellipsometry, XRF, XRR), atomic force microscopy (AFM), FTIR, Raman, optical profilometers (and others)
  • Make recommendations that enhance overall lab performance and workflow, help develop metrology lab capabilities and perform regular evaluation of key metrology assets using SPC methods.
  • Work with process experts to develop innovative metrology solutions to enable cutting edge logic and memory process development in a R&D enviroment
  • Coordinate and drive new metrology tool selection,  tool introduction, and tool qualification
  • Make training procedures and train metrology equipment users

Other Job Responsibilities

Could require to travel to vender site for training or source inspection occasionally

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics; or
  • M.S with 3+ years of relevant work experience; or
  • B.S with 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in team environment and capability to deal with fast paced, customer service-oriented requests is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS degree with 5+ years of experience, PhD degree preferred
  • Previous experience in demiconductor industry is a plus (but not a must)
  • Experience in thin film ellisometry/reflectrometry, surface scan, and CD SEM is a plus
  • Interest in advanced technology and an on-going desire to learn.
  • In-depth understanding and working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and ability to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs and deadlines.
