The Impact You’ll Make

As a Process Engineer Intern, you'll participate in projects applying chemistry methodologies to develop new precursors and processes for the Lam dielectric deposition systems.  As part of the group, you will support in the testing and characterization on development of new or modified chemical precursors. 

What You’ll Do

  • These duties include setting up of and running bench scale experiments, operations of chem center lab deposition equipment, physical analysis of chemicals, and computational analysis.
  • Further R&D support activities can also include data compilation and organization and conducting scientific journal research. 
  • Good knowledge of chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and/or atomic layer deposition (ALD) a plus.

Minium Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in college pursuing a Master's, or PhD degree in chemistry or chemical engineering with an outstanding academic record (full time enrollment desirable).
  • Experience in small scale vacuum system/reactor design (or) inorganic synthesis; main group or transition metals (or) DFT analysis of chemical reactions
  • Firm understanding of probability and statistics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in a synthetic wet lab and understanding of appropriate analytic methods for monitoring chemical reactions 
  • Fundamental understanding of ALD/CVD deposition of silicon and metal-based films
  • Basic experience with DFT calculations.
  • Practical experience applying statistical modeling techniques to perform end-to-end data analysis from problem definition, data preparation, model selection, performance metric selection, to result analysis and conclusions
