Product Engineer 3

Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a top-tier candidate for camera/machine vision integration and testing for our products. The ideal candidate for this position will work in a cross functional role interacting with various engineering teams and vendors to develop the required infrastructure for accurate and effective testing and analysis. The candidate is also expected to support field teams either virtually or by traveling to customer site as required.

Responsible for verifying that the camera / machine vision product meets its performance and productivity success criteria.

• Debug optical, electrical, and mechanical issues during camera module development
• Perform comprehensive optical, image sensor, and image quality characterization
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to identify, drive, and validate camera and sensor data capture and processing improvements in the hardware and software
• Acquire and apply basic engineering theories, methods and research techniques in the investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical problems
• Plan and execute cutting edge research to advance image and video analytics on semiconductor equipment
• Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging existing codebase and platform

Other Job Responsibilities

• Mine and analyze video data sets to improve Lam Research products
• Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of your models and data gathering techniques
• Develop, train and deploy models to increase and optimize customer experiences
• Run process recipes in coordination with process engineers / technicians on Lam process modules
• Develop test plans, documentation and reports as required
• Able to work independently and drive results.

Minimum Qualifications

• MS/PhD in a relevant field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Image Science, Applied Mathematics, or other related disciples)
• Strong experience with image processing, computer vision and computational imaging algorithms and associated libraries
• Expertise with lens-based imaging systems/ camera calibration methods/ scripting languages such as Matlab or Python/ projective geometry and geometric imaging optics
• Familiar with software test methodologies, Design of Experiments, and a passion for testing
• Creative thinking, strong problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python computer programming and the scientific Python Stack.
• Working knowledge of network troubleshooting tools
• Experience with thermal image characterization and/or spectroscopy
• Experience in areas such as image classification and image segmentation
• Experience with streaming video analytics over a network.
• Ideal candidate will have a background understanding in semiconductor processing
• Familiarity with Lam Research process tool operations is a plus but not required
• Ability to complete projects and learn the required skills with minimal guidance
• Comfortable with using multiple software products and able to troubleshoot computer issue
• Experience communicating and working with cross-functional groups.
