The Impact You’ll Make

A Product Engineer manages and executes projects for product development, improvement, product quality, and customer support.  At Lam Research, you should thrive in high-stakes, dynamic environment, driving product development at the forefront of the semiconductor equipment industry. Collaborating closely with customers and internal teams, you will provide real-time problem-solving to customer challenges and to enhance our products.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with suppliers to develop, establish, and improve metal machining processes related to New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • You will focus on failure analysis, process development and control, particle contamination, material issues, and customer points-of-view to achieve your goals.
  • Coordinate with Product Design Group and other groups for design, process, test, reliability and manufacturing to solve product issues and production problems.
  • Ensure suppliers’ quality performance for product and process stability.
  • Coordinate development and qualification activities by conducting design reviews with cross-functional teams (CFT) and stakeholders.
  • Be a lead advocate for your product across company organizations.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical)
  • Five (5) years of related experience.
  • Experience in the metals processing industry (semiconductor/aerospace/medical)
  • Knowledge of various materials joining technologies and techniques (Welding/bonding/brazing)
  • Working knowledge of Statistics Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause-Corrective Action (RCCA), 8D & 5-Whys Problem solving
  • Proficiency using MS office tools (powerpoint, excel, project), Statistical tools (JMP, Minitab etc.)
  • Previous experience in cross-functional project management
  • Previous experience leading technical projects
  • Strong working knowledge of GD&T via ASME Y14.5
  • Travel will be necessary 10-20%
