Job Responsibilities
This is a new position in Lam’s Deposition Products Group (DPG) located in Portland, Oregon. We are looking for a Radio Frequency Engineer with practical RF and Plasma Physics experience.
The Staff RF Engineer will develop new RF technology / systems and provide existing product sustenance.
Success in this role requires knowledge of:
- Design and delivery of multiple (successful) high-power RF products, from production through delivery to customer
- High voltage design
- Plasma Physics
- Transmission line theory
- Impedance matching
- RF filter design
- Metering and RF power measurement circuit design
- RF sub-system/box level design including interface specifications and margin analysis
- Cable harness design, documentation, and fabricationPractical RF engineering design practices such as shielding, power supplies, RF measurements, calibration techniques, and signal analysis
Minimum Qualification
- Minimum of a BS in Electrical Engineering; MS preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in high power RF design in the kW range
- Ability to rapidly generate design concepts and implement them
- Excellent structured problem solving, analysis and trouble-shooting skills
- Ability to travel intermittently (domestic and international)
Additional required skills and abilities include the ability to work with vendors to implement designs in a timely, cost-effective manner; strong organization, creativity, and team leadership skills; organizational acumen; professional communication skills; and the ability to work well in a cross functional team environment.
Experience beneficial for this role includes design and analysis of RF systems, and design of industrial electronics, control systems, I/O, and high voltage power supplies; knowledge of the semiconductor industry, plasma, and capital equipment.
