Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment, or other hardware systems and/or electrical engineering applications. Determines design approaches and parameters. Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results. Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability. May also review vendor capability to support product development.

 

 

We are looking for a Radio Frequency Engineer with practical RF and Plasma Physics experience.

The RF Engineer will develop work with Sr. RF Engineers to create new RF technology / systems and provide existing product sustenance. Success in this role requires knowledge of:

• Design and delivery of multiple (successful) high-power RF products, from production through delivery to customer

• High voltage design

 • Plasma Physics

• Transmission line theory

• Impedance matching

• RF filter design

• Metering and RF power measurement circuit design

• RF sub-system/box level design including interface specifications and margin analysis

• Cable harness design, documentation, and fabrication • Practical RF engineering design practices such as shielding, power supplies, RF measurements, calibration techniques, and signal analysis

 

 

Minimum Qualification

• Minimum of a BS in Electrical Engineering; MS preferred

• some experience in high power RF design in the kW range

• Ability to rapidly generate design concepts and implement them

• Excellent structured problem solving, analysis and trouble-shooting skills

• Ability to travel intermittently (domestic and international)

Additional required skills and abilities include the ability to work with vendors to implement designs in a timely, cost-effective manner; strong organization, creativity, and team leadership skills; organizational acumen; professional communication skills; and the ability to work well in a cross functional team environment.

Experience beneficial for this role includes design and analysis of RF systems, and design of industrial electronics, control systems, I/O, and high voltage power supplies; knowledge of the semiconductor industry, plasma, and capital equipment.
