The Impact You’ll Make

The Senior Manager is responsible to lead the day-to-day Commerical off the Shelf (COTS) SBM organization and provide leadership to drive operational excellence with suppliers.

 

This role can be located in Tualatin, OR or Fremont, CA.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide leadership to coach and develop COTS supply chain operations team and establish culture of accountability and develop a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Your data-driven approach ensures effective planning, scheduling, and monitoring material movement through our dynamic global production cycle. 
  • By driving continuous supplier process improvements, you support the productivity and efficiency of Lam's operations. 
  • Define, monitor, and evaluate supplier performance metrics
  • Drive continuous supplier process and performance improvement related to procurement, inventory control (e.g., JIT, Kanban, Supplier Managed Inventory) capacity planning and manufacturing strategies 
  • Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions. 
  • Assures that suppliers have the capacity to meet our current and future needs as well as ongoing upside capacity to satisfy unplanned demands. 
  • Plans and implements activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials 
  • Works on escalations and delivery improvements 
  • Drive lead-time and cost reduction efforts 
  • Create presentation, white papers, process flow charts to support continuous process improvement programs 
  • Represent Supply Chain Operations across the global organization 
  • Encourage supplier involvement in highly technical / contractually complex new product part designs using the suppliers’ expertise to optimize quality and manufacturability

 

Who We’re Looking For

  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or related technical field.
  • Ten (10) years’ experience in Supply Chain, Order Fulfillment, Engineering, Manufacturing, or Operations.
  • Strong executive messaging and presentation skills, with the ability to work cross functionally and drive decision making in a matrixed environment.
  • Drives structured data analysis and problem solving to complex cross functional problems.
  • Semiconductor equipment knowledge and continuous learning to effectively consider how technical roadmaps of the business units (product lifecycle) and economic trends can affect our supply/demand streams.
  • Experience with Supply Chain procurement and capacity assessment processes – a thorough understanding of medium- and long-term planning, assessment and methodology is critical.
  • Ability to convert top level functional requirements into specific commodity level demand signals and communicate the impact of known constraints and lead time limitations to committed executions plan

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
