General Responsibilities / Job Duties:

  • Designs and analyzes mechanical systems, equipment and packaging. Conducts concept and feasibility studies, R&D, and testing on new and modified designs. Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Provides design information to drafting for packaging documentation.



  • Typically minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or 3 years and a Ph.D degree; or equivalent experience in the semiconductor capital equipment or related industry
  • Develop and design critical mechanical systems for advanced semiconductor processing equipment, including process chambers, vacuum systems, gas and liquid chemical delivery, pedestals, showerhead, and controls in temperature, pressure, valve, and motion. Design experiences in ICP/CCP plasma sources is a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and working experiences in plasma and/or thermal CVD/ALD deposition reactors to deposit thin films on semiconductor devices. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in applying analytical techniques to propose concept, design experiment and/or method, evaluate feasibility, characterize and improve the systems, and release high volume manufacture equipment. Good understanding of semiconductor wafer processing is a plus.
  • Strong skills and experiences in problem solving, time and priority management, communication, and project management. Ability to act as a mentor in their area of expertise and peer to a well-qualified team is highly desired, including actively participating in design reviews, reviewing and providing feedback on others work including presentations, drawings and models, and communicating ideas and results to other engineers and management.
