Deposition Product Group HR Business Partner and Tualatin Site HR leader – Tualatin, Oregon

Sr. Director Level

This position guides, manages, and has full responsibility for HR services, policies, and programs for Lam Research at the Tualatin site. He/she ensures effective and efficient HR operations designed to embody the culture and values of the company, maximize customer trust, business performance, and employee engagement.

The ideal candidate has successfully led site HR operations at a large global enterprise and has 15+ years of related and progressive HR experience in operational HR, COE, and especially, as a successful HR Business Partner. He/she is a role model of collaboration and is demonstrably adept at fostering teamwork and a high-performance culture, focused on delivering business results. He/she is accessible and prioritizes effectiveness and efficiency in the HR delivery model. The ideal candidate is creative, strategic, and adaptive in leading transformational change throughout an organization.

Main responsibilities

  • Serves as HR Business Partner to the Deposition Business Unit, a highly successful and extremely fast-paced global business unit within Lam Research, and is a member of the BU executive leadership team
  • The HRBP’s mission is to enable the business strategy, objectives, and initiatives with relevant HR solutions and remain committed to execute to deliver business results
  • Member of the Tualatin Oregon site executive leadership team owning the HR site objectives and representing HR for Lam Tualatin in the internal and external community
  • Primary HR contact person for site executives, local escalation point for HR related topics and serves as an advisor to all functional department management to promote sound HR practice application.
  • Provide guidance, local management and leadership to HR team (~20 direct/indirect/matrixed) to ensure proper application of Lam HR philosophies and practices, especially aligned with the company’s culture and core values
  • Interacting with Corporate HR functions (COE’s) and Operations to provide guidance and input with respect to Corporate HR polices and programs and continuous improvement in HR processes.
  • Ensures compliance with legal requirements and manage employee and labor relations for the site
  • Lead talent acquisition, assimilation and onboarding for the site
  • Lead workforce management, including diversity initiatives and talent development for the site.
  • Lead and/or facilitate site-wide meetings and training (e.g., all employees, committees, development courses)
  • Partner with local leadership on site-wide communications (developing content, writing, editing, facilitating, etc.)
  • Operationalize the enterprise rewards (compensation and benefits) strategy for the site.
  • Manage service delivery effectiveness through HR metrics including hiring and attrition trends, engagement and retention trends, and the like.
  • Champion organizational culture and company mission, vision, and values for the site.
  • Member of the BCT (Business Continuity Team) representing HR, ensuring site safety, welfare, and wellness

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, masters (MBA, MSOD) preferred
  • PHR or SPHR certification is preferred
  • 10+ years experience as a people manager
  • Current working knowledge of employment laws is required – Oregon and California
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are a must
  • Business acumen and ability to speak with data
  • Strong relationship skills are a must. The ideal candidate is approachable and demonstrated the ability to connect with all levels of the organization
  • Experience in large high-tech enterprises, preferably in the semiconductor or wafer manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability and passion to coach and counsel executive leadership
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Agility – the ideal candidate actively prioritizes and manages through multiple priorities, quickly and smoothly
  • Able to identify opportunities for value-creating/positive change and is able to craft a vision and architect a change strategy in collaboration with multiple stakeholder
  • Ability to set and manage accountabilities and expectations at all levels, acts quickly to resolve conflicts
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time – primarily between Portland and the Bay Area
