Sr. Manager, Trade Compliance

This position reports to the Senior Director of Foreign Trade, facilitate trade while ensuring compliance with global Trade regulations.


Responsible for worldwide oversight of Trade areas:
• Compliance with US and international regulations
• Trade controls and export authorizations
• Customs entry compliance
• Corporate-wide direction for Trade compliance matters

Primary Responsibilities:
• Continuous improvement of a global import and export compliance program
• Establishing and updating Trade control policies for the company
• Defining, documenting, and conducting Trade compliance audits and ensuring corrective action processes are in place to comply with U.S. and international regulations
• Develop and implement Trade compliance training globally.
• Corporate-wide mandate with U.S export and trade sanctions regulations, domestically and globally.
• Oversight of Internal Compliance programs (ICP, TCP, etc.)
• Extended regional FT team management
• Advocacy for internal cross-functional Trade compliance assessment programs
• Represent Lam with US Government and Industry trade related matters (SEMI, etc.)
• M&A support – due diligence and integration
• Cross-functional alignment on resource support of projects involving both export and import activities
• Drive advocacy, alignment and operational implementation of US and international regulatory changes
• Policy and procedural cross-functional alignment
• Oversee operational alignment with Licensing strategy – US and international export & re-export, and deemed export
• Technology control guidelines
• AES filing compliance guidelines
• Screening Guidelines

• 10+ years of relevant senior-level global trade compliance experience

• Minimum BA/BS - MBA and/or Trade related advanced degree preferred

Business / Technical Knowledge
• US Customs and export regulations
• Experience with international Trade regulations in APAC and EU jurisdictions
• Foreign Trade Zone knowledge
• Manufacturing company experience preferred (SEMI)
• SEMI industry product knowledge
• US Customs and export regulations
• Experience with international Trade regulations in APAC and EU jurisdictions
• Foreign Trade Zone knowledge
• Manufacturing company experience preferred (SEMI)
• SEMI industry product knowledge
• Ability to communicate effectively - written and verbal
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member and interact / collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization
• Project management, planning and organizational skills
• Experience delivering training to all levels of the organization (US and international)
• Experience interacting, verbal and written, with US government agencies and Trade organizations
• Logistics experience
• International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) and FCPA regulations experience desired

Ability to travel domestically and internationally (15% of time), for trade related matters
