The Impact You’ll Make

The Senior Strategic Commodity Manager is part of the Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) organization who interfaces with suppliers and various organizations within Lam to address delivery, cost, and production challenges as well as managing risks for the overall commodity.  In this position you will play a vital role managing suppliers in Mechatronics and OEM robotics space with core responsibility in cost, commercial negotiations and execution to strategic plans.

 

You will work across the organization to formulate and execute the strategies, align development deliverables, negotiate contracts and agreements, benchmark suppliers, and resolve delivery, cost, and production challenges.  

What You’ll Do

  • Manage supplier relationships, lead sourcing decisions, plan adequate capacity, evaluate performance and manage commodity risks.
  • Benchmark, develop, implement, and improve supply chain processes and infrastructure to support quality, scalability, and supply continuity.
  • Work collaboratively with cross functional team and internal stakeholders in development of local and regional suppliers.
  • Working knowledge or a technical background in robotics and motion systems preferred.
  • Proficiency using analytical tools such as Power BI, Excel, and databases.
  • Proficiency on the use of SAP or similar ERP/MRP system.
  • Proficient in creating executive-level presentations and updates.
  • Some domestic and international travel will be required, up to 10% of time.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or business; MBA or post graduate degree in Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Twelve (12) years of similar work experience in Supply Chain, Operations, or engineering preferably in semiconductor industry.
  • Creative thinking and strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Formal or informal leadership role within a global matrix managed multi-site company with manufacturing and supplier operations spread over multiple continents.
  • Extensive experience interfacing with customers and suppliers and managing these relationships, knowledge of supply chain management business processes.
  • Demonstrate proactive leadership in identifying problems, potential risks and mitigating those in advance of a critical situation
  • Experience with Program Management, exhibit attention to detail, sense of urgency and ability to handle multiple tasks in fast paced environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal relationship skills, Solid analytical and written/oral communication skills with ability to communicate cross-functionally and with various levels of the organization
