Job Responsibilities

This position is part of the Global Supplier Management (GSM) organization. In this position, you will play a vital role with the Power Distribution Commodities.  You will help establish/ sustain world class supply chain operations ensuring we achieve our commitments to customers. Supply Chain Business Managers will work across the organization on production challenges, operations excellence at suppliers, and participate in continued process improvement projects.

 

The ideal candidate must be a result-driven, self-starter possessing strong interpersonal skills and a strong focus on supporting customers.  This individual should also possess the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, to adapt to changing priorities and to work independently.

 

Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials purchases. Obtains materials using engineering and production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels (i.e., JIT purchases, EOQ). Resolves discrepancies.  Ensures material standards are met and non-conformances or variances are addressed or minimized.  Monitors cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.

 

Other Job Responsibilities

  • Defines metrics/monitor supplier performance against expectations to ensure supplier CIP.  Regularly evaluate quality and performance benchmarks, and the risks associated with OTD. 
  • Develop, maintain and monitor Supply Chain Health Metrics, Utilize 8D process to drive positive growth related change and Mitigate Risk to Customer Commitments.
  • Works with engineering and supplier to resolve complex problems to ensure OTD of critical material that support customer and company requirements.
  • Works with supplier to support and Maintain critical data integrity (LT, Cost, Capacity, OTD).
  • Continuously work on process improvement to deploy & develop BKMs related to procurement, inventory control (JIT, Kanban, CONs) & manufacturing strategies
  • Established goals with supplier to ensure material delivery meets forecasted demand.
  • Develops presentations, Business Cases, process flow charts, to support CIP projects.
  • Drive the improvement of suppliers manufacturing processes to ensure product quality and on-time-delivery
  • Represents supplier business management on cross-functional commodity teams that focuses on supply challenges to ensure internal/external customer needs are satisfied.
  • Coordinates early supplier involvement for new products designs using the suppliers expertise to optimize quality, manufacturability and Capacity

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Business and/or Supply Chain Management; Masters in Supply Chain Management or MBA preferred
  • 5 to 7 years relevant experience at managing remote factory, Contract Manufacturer, or direct supply chain partners with multiple commodity responsibility
  • Creative thinking and strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Solid analytical and written/oral communication skills with ability to communicate cross-functionally and with various levels of the organization including Executives
  • Solid understanding of statistical process control and basic statistical analysis used in production setting.  8D experience preferred.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance
  • International & domestic travel, when allowed
  • Effective verbal and written communication, and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge, experience and use of SAP or other ERP systems (SAP a Plus)
  • Lean Six Sigma experience as a Yellow or Green Belt
  • Project Management / Team Lead experience
