The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.
The Impact You’ll Make
Provides technical training to customer technicians who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging complex electro/mechanical equipment, computer systems, complex software, or networked and/or wireless systems. Successful training of customer Fab technicians will result in increased product availability for production and follow-on business for Lam equipment. Provides training to customer/users where the product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature while also serving as the face of Lam to numerous customer employees.
What You’ll Do
Conducts technical training courses for customers and/or employees in the use of complex situations for multiple products, in the Technical Training Center or at a customer site. Interacts with customer and functional organizations to develop specifications for content of courses for Etch products. Prepares lesson plans from engineering documentation, field service requirements or software documentation. Works with engineering, technical support and manufacturing to ensure that course material reflects current product features. Instructs participants in classroom lectures, customer Fab sessions and laboratory sessions. Follows up to determine applicability of course material. You will be responsible for performing training in a customer Fab on Lam Etch systems installed at the location. The training will consist of Lam standard procedures as well as customer specific procedures. Must be open to travel, approximately 5%.
Who We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Etch tools
- Experience working in a customer Fab.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
