Staff Mechanical Engineer, ALD Engineering

The ALD Engineering team is chartered with designing and developing disruptive and game changing Atomic Layer Deposition hardware, systems and tools. This includes single wafer reactor design, wafer cavity design, flow and thermal control system design, module level wafer handling system design and integration of such designs into a manufacturing-worthy dielectric ALD product.

 

The ALD Engineering team designs, works with vendors to procure and test these designs. The hardware systems are designed using innovative approaches to identify and evaluate novel concepts related to upstream and within reactor flow, reactor thermal environment control, system dynamics control, and material choices that enable wider range of precursors 

 

Applicants should: display strong creativity and be an expert in component and system level design, analyze their designs using analytical methods and 3D modeling methods where applicable,think outside the box to conceive and design parts and test rigs to evaluate new concepts quickly and efficiently, file invention disclosures as needed. Work with vendors to determine design changes for manufacturability, learn from past designs within the company and leverage own experience, support execution of product design and build.

 

Key requirements include:

-     Creative thinker and expert in designing parts; Hands-on and experimental experience desirable. BS necessary, MS in Engineering desirable.

-     Familiarity with semiconductor capital equipment industry desirable. Familiarity with vacuum systems and plasma systems a plus.

-     Flexible and open attitude, willingness to take risks and try new things.

-     Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as analysis skills.

-     Team player; ability to be a peer and a mentor.
