Position Summary

Plans, organizes and controls the business/contracts/negotiations for the strategic acquisition of materials and services of technical or contractual.  Will be a member of a cross-functional supplier management group responsible to analytically formulate and execute comprehensive supply management strategies for RF sub-assemblies and components in the OEM Commodity.  

Primary Functions and Performance Objectives

  • Serve as Team Leader for most supplier Global Agreement negotiations, renegotiations and contract addendums.  Negotiates performance-based, preferred supplier agreements, to provide incentive for continuous supplier improvement.  Advises commodity team leader on strategic plans.
  • Defines metrics and monitor supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvement.  Regularly evaluate quality and performance benchmarks, and the risks associated with the preferred supply base selection. 
  • Encourages and coordinates early supplier involvement in highly technical and/or contractually complex new products parts design using the suppliers’ expertise to optimize quality and manufacturability.
  • Works independently to develop and apply a strategic commodity plan, in order to define a preferred supplier base for highly technical and/or contractually complex commodities. 
  • Develop Lam’s procurement and inventory control strategy (e.g., JIT, Kanban, min/max).  Leads Purchasing team to assist in the research, development, and implementation of solutions to supply issues.
  • Represents Procurement on a cross-functional strategic commodity team (CT) that focuses on strategic supply challenges, and to ensure internal/external customer needs are satisfied.
  • Maintains current knowledge on relevant trends by personal contact, industry reports, trade journals, etc.
  • Manage special projects for all of OEM group that support AOP objectives.
  • Requires excellent analytical and written/oral communication skills with ability to communicate cross-functionally and with various levels of the organization including Executives
  • The role is that of an individual contributor who is a self- starter and able to operate independently of day to day supervision.
  • Previous project management experience and knowledge of basic project management concepts.

 

Position Qualifications

Minimum Educational Requirement: 

 4 year college degree BA-BS, BS in engineering field is preferred in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

 

Minimum Experience:

5+ years of experience in a Supply Chain, Operations, or production/planning environment.  Preferably in Semiconductor industry.

Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Power Point required)

Proficient at leading Cross-Functional Teams without direct line authority

Works well independently and in small groups

Excellent written and oral communications skills

Solid analytical skills supporting the ability to solve complex problems with multi-dimensional, conflicting needs

 Effective in tactical execution/management in a dynamic schedule change environment

 Familiar with basis supplier management and project management principles
