The Group You’ll Be A Part Of

The Cable Technician Group at our Tualatin Campus is looking for a Lab Supervisor, which is a working supervisor role responsible for building prototype cable assemblies in conjunction with overseeing all daily activities in the laboratory, ensuring that all work is conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and company standards while meeting our high-quality standards.

 

What You’ll Do

  1. Cable Build Technician:
    • Scope new prototype and build requests for material availability, order material as required, and estimate scope of work required
    • Build/Assembly assigned cables and review team member’s completed work for accuracy and quality
    • Read and interpret engineering drawings to include layout drawings, point-to-point wire lists, and wiring schematics
    • Experience with a variety of hand tools to perform wire cutting, stripping, soldering, and crimping to ensure requests are built to specification
    • Work with Hardware Engineering to establish best known methods (BKMs) and practices
  2. Supervision and Management:
    • Oversee the daily activities of the technicians buy scheduling and assigning tasks aligned to priorities and ensure workload balancing
    • Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing and ensuring compliance will all health and safety regulations and conducting regular safety audits and inspections
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and provide training and mentorship to all personnel
    • Manage lab material inventory and equipment and coordinate maintenance and calibration of lab instruments
    • Prepare and manage the lab budget
  3. Quality Control and Assurance:
    • Implement and monitor quality control measures and ensure all lab procedures comply with regulatory and internal protocols.
    • Address and resolve any issues related to lab results or procedures.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Education: Associate’s degree in a relevant scientific/technical field or equivalent related experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a technical setting responsible for electro-mechanical assembly and repair with an emphasis on cable assembly, and at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role with direct reports.

Preferred Qualifications

    • IPC-WHMA620 certification
    • IPC-A610 certification
