Job Functions/Duties

•             Form and lead cross-functional teams to define sourcing strategies and sourcing plans for new products, including recommendations for new supplier selection & evaluation as part of Pilot Organization.

•             Serves as single point of contact to the Supply Chain team to confirm supplier readiness in terms of production capacity and approved critical parts manufacturing prior to key product milestones

•             Manages the transition of new products from pilot production to volume production

•             Utilizes software tools to perform regular cost rollups, analyze product cost performance to drive corrective action as required to achieve product cost targets, and manage the product cost roadmap prior to production release.

•             Fundamental understanding of cost reduction methods including but not limited to market trends, competitive quotes, negotiation, make versus buy analysis, should-cost, cost allocation, and Design for Cost (DFx). 

•             Recognizes opportunities to improve product design for cost/quality/delivery by early supplier involvement.

•             Work collaboratively with supply chain and engineering stakeholders; develop supplier selection process for piece parts or outsourced assemblies and identify supply chain risks supporting sourcing decisions.

•             Responsible for resolving discrepancies between cost targets and quoted costs, creates and delivers presentations to program executives and CFT stakeholders

Required Experience & Education

•             Direct industry technical program management experience

•             Practical experience with multiple commodities (sheet metal, metal machining, plastic machining/welding, remote factories, purchased assemblies, electromechanical, mechatronics, distribution, hardware)

•             Proficiency in MS Power Point and SAP

•             Power user of MS Excel and an understanding of Excel Modeling techniques a must

•             Ability to read and interpret product BOM's and drawings

•             Must be a self-starter and be able to operate independent of day-to-day supervision

•             Direct experience leading cross-functional teams

•             Ability to demonstrate problem solving and critical thinking skills

•             8+ years of industry experience

•             Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or equivalent; Master’s Degree Preferred

Preferred Experience & Education

•             Formal negotiation training

•             Practical experience in capturing value for multiple commodities such as sheet metal, metal machining, plastic machining/welding, remote factories, purchased assemblies, electromechanical, mechatronics, distribution, and hardware.
