Job Responsibilities
As product owner, you will play an essential leadership role in defining and driving implementation of a new software product. You will connect the engineering teams with product stakeholders, turning product vision and roadmap into a prioritized, actionable product backlog. You will work with product stakeholders up, down and across the organization to make sure engineering work is aligned with product strategy and priorities. This position will enable you to use your deep experience in software product development to ensure the success of the product and is a position of significant authority and influence. Level and compensation will be commensurate with your experience.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Guide implementation of the software product roadmap by connecting the engineering teams to the product strategy, roadmap and vision
- Act as single source of product information for the engineering team by authoring and prioritizing the product backlog
- Contribute to software product roadmap and vision through interaction with the product manager
- Ensure that engineering priorities are aligned with business objectives through interaction with product stakeholders (product manager, program manager, applications and business teams, and executives)
- Facilitate and participate in sprint exit, entry and backlog grooming activities
- Set sprint goals for the engineering teams aligned with the product vision and objectives
- Validate developed user stories to ensure compliance with product vision
- Represent the work of the engineering team to the product stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications
The following qualifications are required:
- Bachelor of Science or Engineering in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field. Graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum 8 years total professional experience as a software engineer, with at least 3 years as lead engineer or team lead
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to connect with stakeholders up, down and across the org chart
- Ability to maximize ROI by balancing business value and engineering complexity
- Understanding of agile methodology gained through practical experience using it on a real software product
- Expertise using software lifecycle management software (Jira preferred)
- Hungry, humble, smart mindset
- Foster positive relationships through mutual trust, respect and open communication
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications would be an asset but are not required:
- Experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager
- Knowledge of or experience in the semiconductor industry, particularly semiconductor equipment
- Professional experience as a software engineer
- Background in physics or plasma physics
- Exposure to software product development in a large organization
- Experience managing or leading teams
