Job Responsibilities

 

Plans, develops and implements messaging for promotion of product awareness, business plans and management communications. Partner with management, business units, or sales to leverage message. Develops, enhances or revises marketing collateral for web, print or other media channels. Participates in media placement decisions. May work with outside agencies to build and execute a media strategy. May function as editor for formal business communications. May design and implement measurements to analyze messaging program effectiveness and quantify revenue generated from executed programs.

Other Job Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Lam Research Japan communications strategy; including public relations, internal events, social media, philanthropy, employee communications, industry events
• Provide communications consulting and support for all Lam Research Japan Communications requirement and be the custodian of the brand in Japan.
• Identify opportunities for Lam to strengthen its position as a thought leader through participation in industry events related to our business; as well as participating in local trade association activities
• Support and localize corporate communications initiatives in Lam Research Japan working closing with other business functions in Japan. This position will support the translation of technical and business objectives into tangible messages, events and other initiatives that resonate with local stakeholders and promote the broader strategy and direction of the company
• Report appropriate measurement programs to assess the effectiveness and impact of all communications programs
• Support local recruiting efforts to promote the value proposition for working at Lam
• Execute communications programs to strengthen company culture and promote the mission vision and values at the region and country level
• Implement corporate philanthropy efforts to maximize exposure and good will across key communities where the company operates
• Manage, track and report the budget for Community activities and lead the weekly meetings
• Develop content and drive successful execution of employee events, including but not limited to, employee engagement initiatives, change communication, all-hands / town hall meetings, annual day events etc.
• Deliver completed projects on time and within budget.
• Track and report quarterly communications and community relations achievements
• Be the go-to person for Communication needs of the internal stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in an in-house communications role and similar function at a large, public company, and semiconductor environment.
• Ideally, semiconductor equipment or broader technology industry experience is desirable
• Ability to organize own workload, maintaining high quality and output and achieving set deadlines and targets
• Capacity to simultaneously manage multiple projects and deadlines in an environment where daily priorities may shift
• Flexibility, with the ability to work smoothly under pressure, producing high quality results on short notice and occasionally responding to requests or issues outside of normal business hours
• Experience working in a matrix environment with reporting to manufacturing leads and Corporate function. Highly capable of managing multiple stakeholders and priorities.
• Experience working with non-profits and other NGOs
• Comfortable working in an achievement culture
• University degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, Public Relations or equivalent academic qualification and proven track records.
• Fluent in Business English and Japanese (both written and spoken)
