Job Responsibilities
As Senior Marketing Communications Specialist for Japan, you will play a critical role creating and executing strategic programs that span all communications channels and formats, align with our key business objectives, and advance Lam’s brand and reputation goals locally, regionally, and globally. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Corporate Communications for Japan, you will be responsible for helping us shape our narrative, inspire our workforce, bring our brand to life and shape perceptions of Lam with key audiences. This position requires strong cross-team collaboration across multiple functions and close partnership with corporate communications teammates across Asia and in the US.
What You’ll Do
External Communications
- Support developing Japan external communications plans aligning with local business strategy. Manage communication budget and agencies to execute communication initiatives
- Execute local media strategies: Japan key messaging, press releases and media events
- Support branding campaigns and company communications platforms including social media
- Facilitate marketing communication activities in Japan
- Support Lam sponsorship and Lam-owned marketing events
- Cooperate with the global team to develop and localize content
Employee Communications
- Create content for and manage internal comms channels and design employee engagement messaging
- Facilitate/implement communications for employee events
- Collaborate with HR to enhance employer branding to position the company as an employer of choice
Other Job Responsibilities
- Support community (public service) activities in Japan
- Cooperate with the global team to develop community programs
Who We’re Looking For
Minimum Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in a communications role at a global company or PR agency. Preferably experience working in the semiconductor, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, or the electronics industry
- Native Japanese, skilled in English
- Skilled in MS Office: PowerPoint/Word, basic skill in Excel
- Proactive team player with strong accountability, initiative and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- University degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or equivalent academic qualification
- Experience as a writer in the media or a content creator in the new media
- A bold, action-oriented and positive person who can put new ideas into action

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
