The Impact You’ll Make

Join Lam as an IT Engineer, where you'll be at the forefront of designing, analyzing, and implementing applications and systems that form the foundation of our infrastructure. As a crucial member of our IT team, you'll contribute your technical assistance and guidance to projects for various systems and infrastructures. Acting as a technical liaison, you'll address complex business problems with automated systems solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving Lam's commitment to innovation and efficiency.

What You’ll Do

  • Remote Site Support: Provide comprehensive IT support to remote sites, addressing hardware and software issues, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring timely resolution. Implement and manage help desk operations to ensure efficient handling of user requests from remote locations.
  • International Team Collaboration: Collaborate with international teams to support and maintain IT infrastructure across the region. Participate in global IT projects and initiatives, ensuring consistent implementation and adherence to standards.
  • Infrastructure Management: Work with international support team/SMEs to oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems. Ensure the infrastructure is robust, scalable, and secure to meet the organization's needs.
  • End user support: Tier 2 deskside support for users in Japan. Able to support Tier 1 DSS engineer to resolve complex end user issue.
  • Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with vendors to procure IT equipment and services, ensuring cost-effective solutions and timely delivery. Manage vendor relationships and contracts.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, configurations, procedures, and user guides. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and support to end-users to enhance their understanding and utilization of IT systems. Conduct workshops and training sessions as needed.
  • Communication: Provide in time updates to users and management team in Japan, for changes in IT area. Meanwhile being able to actively collect feedback from users in Japan and provide it to international teams.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Language: Business level Japanese and English
  • Education: Minimum B.S. in Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, network administration, and end-user support.
  • Skills: Thorough knowledge of information technology, computer systems, applications, and networking. Knowledge in Microsoft products, such as Office 365, AD, Intune, Windows Defender, Windows servers are required. Understanding of ITIL framework is a plus. PM skill is a plus. Knowledge in Information Security is a plus.
  • Communication: Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and coordination skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex IT issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Independence: Ability to work independently and manage IT operations without direct supervision.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
