Plans facilities changes for plant, office, and production equipment layouts, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations. Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition. Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation and other related costs. Inspects construction and installation progress for conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules. Develops criteria and performance specifications required to meet unique operating requirements and building and safety codes.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities

  • Manage and own all control system operations.  Ensure any modifications and contractor installations reflect all quality standards.  Ensure that the controls vendors are coordinated with Lam Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical and Electrical) for proper delivery and implementation for controls on infrastructure projects.
  • Support tool installation project for instrument and control system, fire system and gas detection system 
  • Desired experience in operations and engineering of the Fire Life Safety Systems (FLSS) which include fire fighting (fire protection), fire alarm (fire detection) and toxic gas monitoring systems (TGMS).
  • Ability to review and thoroughly understand the designs for fire fighting, fire alarm and toxic gas monitoring. 
  • Experienced with reviewing fire alarm programming and signaling ensuring all applicable code requirements are being met. Experience with suppliers like Siemens, Simplex, Honeywell Notifier, etc
  • Experienced with fire protection layout and devices ensuring all applicable code requirements are being met.
  • Maintain all fire alarm and fire protection equipment and operation ensuring adequate functionality.  Ensure zero downtime of the fire alarm by maintaining spare equipment.
  • Experienced with Honeywell Gas Detection (Vertex, ACM150, XCD Flammable Detection) programming, alarming and signaling.
  • Attend Daily Ops meeting for facilities to ensure that outsourced service providers are assigned action items, then ensure these vendors are driven to complete each action item within the assigned duration
  • Attend SIPP review/approval, including analysis of the risk assessment ratings (RAR) assigned to each SIPP – determine proper value of each RAR and guide the team to manage the risk to an acceptable level that maintains safety and schedules
  • Ensure that control engineer is coordinated with operation vendor to deliver all preventative maintenance tasks and repairs, including Lab service team, product group and other GWS team.
  • Support startup and commissioning of all GWS project and KTC

Who We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Controls, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or Computer Science with minimum 1~4 years of semiconductor R&D lab/wafer fab experience in controls and instrumentation.  Technical degree/certificate and equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • Experience in controls and networking design.  Develop hardware assembly and wiring diagrams for supervisory control and data acquisition systems (SCADA), develop control system software in PLC ladder logic, function block, structured text and HMI programming as well as performing all continued ownership and troubleshooting of the SCADA systems.  Must have relevant experience being engineer for hardware engineering (systems, integration, instrumentation callout, panel layout and construction).  Experienced process flow diagrams, P&IDs, single line diagrams, cable and conduit schedules, instrumentation and control data sheets, I/O lists and controls narratives. 
        • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC hardware/software.  ControlLogix PLC programming experience developing new programs and troubleshooting existing programs.
        • Experience configuring and troubleshooting networking devices such as industrial Ethernet switches, gateways and OPC servers.  Configuring and troubleshooting industrial protocols (Common Industrial Protocol - ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, Modbus RTU and TCP/IP, BACnet, Profinet, Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus and HART Protocol)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluent in English
  • Very skilled for MS office
  • A person who can be appointed as a safety manager of a high-pressure gas storage facility (a gas technician certificate or higher / a person who has completed general facility safety manager training from KGS)
