The Impact You’ll Make

As a Process Technician at Lam, are a vital part of the team in actively supporting process development, product development, and research and development (R&D). You’ll set up processing equipment, conduct technical tests and experiments, process test runs, and present findings to optimize yield. Your technical expertise supports process development, contributing to Lam’s commitment to innovation.

In this role, you will directly contribute to improve 30kV STEM productivity.

High level metrology technician capable of operating multiple tool types; generating, organizing, and interpreting data; modifying instrument instruction sets (recipes); and providing 1:1 support to technologists at the highest technical level. 

What You’ll Do

  • Preparation of samples using Focused Ion Beam (FIB) to create microscopy lamella
  • Generate best-in-class data through quality control and continuous improvement
  • Proper handling of sensitive customer samples and intellectual property
  • Assisting customers in locating regions of interest, interpreting data, and troubleshooting when data does not meet expectations
  • FIB-TEM Instruction review with engineer feedback and update 
  • Communicate with team members to facilitate technique transfers, pass down sample learnings
  • Pre-processing for 30kV STEM operations
  • Engineer communication
  • Internal communication of consumables replacement, prioritization, and sample arrangement
  • Assist in technical troubleshooting and improvement opportunities of the application lab tools and experiment setups.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Focused Ion Beam (FIB) to create TEM lamella
  • Handling various semiconductor samples for FIB-TEM prep samples 
  • Good communication skills for internal/ external customers
  • Associates degree in technical field, Technical Certificate, Diploma or higher in semiconductors, electronics, chemistry, mechanical, or related field
  • Ability to work a shift schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

  • FIB (Focused Ion Beam) operation experienced over 3 years. 
  • Thermo Fisher(FEI) tool experience is plus
  • Foundational communication skills, reading and writing, in English.
  • TEM experience is plus
  • Semiconductor experience is plus
